Join us for a deliciously hands-on evening at the Bellarine Smokehouse + Provedore as we explore the art of crafting the perfect Italian 3 course meal and with matched local wines from Bennet's Wines. Cook and feast with chef Antony Campbell and taste wines and learn more about the local terroir with local vigneron Jamie Bennett.
This adult evening class celebrates flavour, texture and tradition. Designed for food and wine lovers looking to elevate their entertaining game.
You’ll begin by learning how to curate and create a stunning antipasto platter, featuring house-smoked delicacies, marinated vegetables, artisan cheeses, and handmade accompaniments. Discover the secrets to balancing salty, sweet, and tangy elements for a truly memorable first course with matched wine.
Next, you’ll sit down together to enjoy a comforting plate of pillowy gnocchi con ragù—slow-cooked and rich with rustic Italian soul. (matched wine).
Finally, you’ll get hands-on again to pipe your own fresh ricotta cannoli, finishing the evening on a sweet, creamy high. (matched wine).

Antony Campbell is a Melbourne based professional chef and educator with more than two decades of experience specialising in regional Italian cuisine. Hailing from a
migrant family of northern Italians, he shares his experiences of ‘growing up Italian’ and food experiences from his youth.
Antony has travelled Italy extensively meeting and working with artisan food and wine producers who share his enthusiasm for maintaining the knowledge of traditional recipes and historic methods of Italian food production.
Running an Italian cookery school in North Carlton for several years. Antony shares his recipe and expertise in pasta making, risotto making, Italian butchery and smallgoods, bread making, patisserie, and how to make the best of seasonal produce through techniques drawn from Italy's history of cucina povera. Currently working as an educator in Australian schools he continues to share his passion for cookery and Italian food whilst travelling and continuing to develop his knowledge of Italy’s rich food history.
Jamie Bennett is a local vigneron and runs and owns Bennetts Winery. He's passionate about his wines and sharing his knowledge, expertise and interesting stories...from tending vines, wine making mistakes, the effect of the weather on vintages to sheep running amok, he'll have you enjoying his wines along with some hearty laughter.

What to bring: Everything is provided including an apron to wear on the day. Please wear comfortable clothing to suit the season and we recommend flat and enclosed shoes. Aprons will be provided for use during the session, or feel free to bring your favourite one! Aprons will also be available for purchase on the day.
Extra info: Please note that the cooking school is as the name suggests upstairs at our Provedore in Drysdale and there is no lift access to the second story. There is parking at the front of the Provedore.
